VisualTrainr is designed to help you track your workouts by displaying real-time fitness data from your Apple Watch on your iPhone. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we handle your data.
Information We Collect
VisualTrainr accesses the following data from Apple's HealthKit with your explicit permission:
- Heart Rate: To display real-time heart rate during workouts and calculate heart rate zones
- Workout Data: Including calories burned, distance, steps, and workout duration
- Health Profile: Your age (if provided) to calculate default heart rate zones
How We Use Your Information
Your health data is used exclusively to:
- Display real-time workout metrics on your iPhone screen
- Calculate and monitor heart rate zones during exercise
- Save completed workouts to the Apple Health app
- Provide audio, haptic, and voice alerts when you enter or exit target heart rate zones
Data Storage and Security
- Local Storage: All your health data remains on your device. We do not upload your health data to external servers.
- Apple Health Integration: Workout data is securely saved to Apple's Health app, which you control entirely.
- No Third-Party Sharing: We do not share, sell, or transmit your health data to any third parties.
Permissions We Request
VisualTrainr will ask for your permission to:
- Read HealthKit Data: To access heart rate and workout information from your Apple Watch
- Write HealthKit Data: To save completed workouts to your Apple Health app
You can revoke these permissions at any time through iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → VisualTrainr.
App Settings and Preferences
We store your app preferences locally on your device, including:
- Custom heart rate zones you create
- Audio and haptic alert preferences
- Display and interface settings
Children's Privacy
VisualTrainr is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
